Rock Photography?

If you don't talk to me everyday this post is going to seem a little bit kookoo. Here are the results of my point and shoot camera session with my bling. I focused more on capturing the color and clarity of the diamonds than on my composition- there are some weird things going on with my dining chairs and sunlight.

Here's an assortment of the other more cutesy ones. These little travel mementos usually sit in a neglected drawer but came in handy today! My sister brought me the Buddha from India, my dad brought me the nesting dolls from Kazakhstan, and the little jeepney is from the Philippines, obviously. Pardon the dust!

Great Expectations is one of my all time favorite books and movies. I still remember the way the entire movie gave this huge knot in my stomach. So, I chose a slower variation of this song to walk down the aisle to. It's a great scene.

Why do I bring this up? No, it's not because I'm in some crazed 'relive every moment of my weddding' phase, in fact I couldn't hear the music walking down the aisle at all. It's because I recently purchased the new Kanye album and had to give this song a second listen because I could not believe my ears. It's the SAME song you hear in the background.

By far more interesting than the fact that I walked down the aisle to this song, is the context of both songs. Great Expectations is about a beautiful, privileged, unfeeling girl/woman. 'Robo-cop' is about a 'spoiled little L.A. girl' who is cold and causes misery. A very fitting song in juxtaposition. I wonder who chose the song to back up Kanye in 'Robocop.' Whoever did, I love them.

I know I've been missing in action (inexplicable to even myself), a 2008 wrap up to come soon and then I promise a more prolific 2009.
